For me, and I'm speaking just for myself. I really enjoy inventing every piece of the puzzle in a work of fiction. I love it. Every writer is different. No one writer thinks the same. What works for him may not work for her in terms of how to put a story together. Fiction for me is not work. It really is fun. Non-fiction is work, there is mountains of research that goes into every page. Inventing colorful characters are a breeze for me.

Titles of Children's Books You Have Written or Illustrated
As of now, I have not written any Children's books, but I really do want too.
About Me:
I'm a Chicago author of three published novels of crime fiction. My latest is 'Derrick Sweat Midwest Deep Freeze' is now available at www.amazon.com But for a few years now, I have wanted to write a children's book. I'm a single divorce dad with full custody of my young son. I've been a full time Dad since he was a infant. As then as well as now, I have been taking care of him all alone. It's been hard. I love and adore my eight year old son. Over the years, I think he as given lots of material to write about for a first children's book, but I just haven't put it altogether. However,I think this time I'm ready to see the project through to the end.

Think like a child

I have heard that to write a children's book that the author has to think like a child. Sorry, I didn't see a place for discussion on this page.

Not Reading

What are you currently not reading that you intend to get too at sometime in the near future? Whether fiction, non-fiction, articles, and short stories. Share your thoughts. I'm a avid reader and always looking for that page turner. I'm currently not reading John Lescroart, however, I plan too.

Characters

I have long grown tired of tradtional Characters names, therefore, I began naming my characters after states, cities, towns, villages, and suburbs. I found it to be very interesting. My son is named Denver. I was fed-up with scratching my head over massively trying to come up with various names for individual characters. And I love it.
