Hi, Authorswrite,
It's sounds like it might be better as a mid grade chapter book, but I'd have to read it to make that judgement. Do you belong to any critique groups? There are many available to join and will help you develop your writing skills. Most groups are small so you don't have to worry about someone "stealing" your ideas.

I will ask! I'm always needing advise on this journey. I have a PB dealing with a girl drawing a school poster. She finally decides to do one dealing with homeless families. Too much for a PB? Someone said in a PB you shouldn't deal with such issues. Thanks for any words you might say on that subject!

About Me:
I've been told the number 8 has a significant meaning and this year, 2008, would stand for new beginnings for many people. When I sit back and take stock of my life this year, I'd have to say YES, it must be true. Everything about the year 2008 is full of new beginnings for me. My husband started a new job in January that gives us plenty of new adventures starting with a new state, new home and new friends. I just found out that my first book, "The Night The Twinkle Bugs Came" will be picked up for publication this year. I love new beginnings, don't you?

"Let me take you back in time when you were four years old and just discovered fireflies. Do you remember the sun going down and the light from the tail of a firefly sparking to life? Or that feeling of delight when you caught one and as you reached out your hand it gently flicked it wings and flew away? If not, then allow me to share Rosie's journey of discovery in her back yard as she and her younger brother Max search for the twinkling lights she saw the night before." ~Donna Sarhal Beck~

"The Night the Twinkle Bugs Came" is a picture book for ages 4 - 8 and is designed to stimulate the curiosity and imagination in the very young.

I have been actively writing stories for young children since 2005 and am a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. I am a Literacy Volunteer through Pro Literacy America and am a former Read Aloud Volunteer.
