About Me:
I turned to writing for children when I acted as a special teacher to a mainstreamed blind student when he entered first grade. I was with him for three+ yrs. During that time I wrote stories for both him and his classmates. Teaching them all how to write a story and put it with pictures was the most fun of all and ultimately encouraged all the classroom teachers to do the same each year.

Those little books that each class wrote were shelved in the school's library where any student could check them out and take them home. I like to think that I created that program for so many of those kids.

I taught as many YA and adults as elementary students and always enjoyed that feeling of having given them something to think about. That's why I can't stop writing now. I have too many stories yet to tell and no children close by to tell them to.

With the help of ICL I hope to have something published soon. I've learned much this past year and I've met so many marvelous writers whose work I can now enjoy all the more.

Much Ado About Petty Potentials

Sounds confusing, doesn't it? What could I possibly mean by petty potentials? Well, I'll describe them this way; a petty potential is a miniscule and unimportant bit of trivial business that has the potential to blossom into a man-eating-sized venus flytrap that a person just doesn't dare approach.

Petty potential describes each little task, chore, interruption that drives a person to distraction until dealt with to a point of finality. Example: the little nuisance bill that comes once in a whi… Continue

Watching For Language Threats

Has your lemons-to-lemonade experience ever turned sour shortly thereafter? Or, have your two birds in the hand ever crapped all over you before flying out of your grasp? What about those two heads? Which is really the better one? Ever wondered?

Clichés right? Though, are they truly just clichés? Poor Richard wouldn’t have agreed. He’d have said they represented life’s lessons learned and remembered.

If that’s the case, what about all those inches being wasted? I… Continue

Future Interviews

As you all know I've been away dealing with family emergencies and the like. Now that I'm back I will be the interviewing process with all of those who have so generously allowed me access to their writing lives. Bless you all.

So far, I have nearly forty marvelous women lines up to tell me of their juggleing process and success. Those, alone, will keep me occupied on my Wordpress blog for some months. When I have finished them, I will move on to talking with the fellas about their trials behin… Continue

Interview Series Postponement

Dur to a family emergency with concerning my father, I am forced to postpone my upcoming interview series until sometime in December. Hopefully, I'll be able to begin posting it in Jan.

I appreciate all the well wishes and am grateful for all of your kind thoughts and words.

I'll see you when I see you. I will have extremely limited access, if any, to a computer while I'm away.

Take care, all, and God bless.

Thanks. I just got another review from the owner of Spellbinder books in Bishop CA. you can see it on bookykids.blogspot.com under the title That Darn Vacuum. I will be checking back soon and do a "formal" intro of myself to others here. One of the greatest discoveries in this process has been the support from other indep. authors and publishers and I intend to do my part in providing what I can to help others as well. Linda

I too apologize for the typos and misspelled words...long day.... plus I am more of a creative speller, not a great trait for a writer but as Mark Twain said "never trust a man who can spell a word only one way." I think it was Mark Twain. I am off to meet Mary Ann Hoberman who is doing a reading at the Kings English bookstore here in Salt Lake City (what fun!) you can send emails to me at linda@peekingkitty.com

Hi there,

I hope you had a nice trip. I'm very sorry to hear about your brother-in-law. I hope your sister and the rest of your family are finding some peace and comfort during this trying time.

I'm doing well. I also just came back from traveling. I spent the week in Houston for my employer's annual convention.

I'm glad you came back in time to see the wonderful colors on our trees. The leaves are finally starting to fall. But I must admit this has been one of our most beautiful autumns yet.
